HOW TO PLAY POT LIMIT OMAHA
Learning Pot Limit Omaha (PLO) is simple and exciting! To play, you must combine exactly 2 of your 4 hole cards with 3 of the 5 community cards on the table to create the best possible five-card hand. Bet on hands you believe can win, or wait for the next round and new cards.
The goal is to win the pot (with the strongest hand or as the last active player). The strongest hand is the best combination of cards at the end of the round (check the hand rankings). When you're the last remaining active player, you'll win the pot regardless of the strength of your hand.
Beginning of the Round
The dealer is chosen first. The small blind is the player immediately to the left of the dealer, and the big blind is the second player to the left. The dealer deals four cards to each player. Based on these cards, players decide whether to continue. The first move is made by the player to the left of the big blind.
Player Moves
CHECK - continues to play without betting (only if other players before him haven't raised);
CALL - pays the raised bet value;
RAISE - bets chips increasing the bet value;
FOLD - withdraws from the game in the current round without showing cards.
Each round ends with equalizing bets.
Flop
After the bets are placed, the dealer opens the flop. From now on, the small blind is always the first to act.
Turn
In the next round, the dealer reveals the turn, and the players are on the move.
River
The last round of the game is the opening of the river, where active players form the final hand. The round ends with the laying down of cards. The strongest hand wins the pot.
